A long, long time ago I graduated from the University of Montana in physics and honors mathematics. An announcement during Calculus class sought anyone interested in tutoring math. Thus this journey began. Tutoring was a part-time job I’m taking full-time.

My teaching philosophy is that academic excellence can be achieved through practice, dedication, and fun. We don't always have to be anxious about getting to the next level, but instead be confident, relaxed, consistent...and always have a sense of humor. What is learning without some laughter?

These past two decades found me exclusively in the one on one, in home tutoring space. This environment provides students the most comfort. We can talk about how the he or she is doing, and what is going on both in and outside the classroom. In this space of comfort the student’s strengths and weaknesses emerge quickly than a classroom or multi-student tutoring session.

In my spare time, you’ll find me spending time with my girlfriend, playing golf, watching baseball, motorcycle camping, or volunteering and advocating for kidney or young adult cancer patents. In a previous life you’d find me rock and mountain climbing in Africa, Europe, and the US.
